3 out of 5 stars Not quite happy   June 15, 2008
I am glad I did not pay any more then I did for this chair. It is adequate for our needs but when it arrived I had to fight for quite a while to get it pulled apart to open it the first time and shortly after that the right brake assembly literally went BOING! The clamp moving around has stripped the paint in that area besides marring the aluminum tubing. I had to attempt to repair it myself and it is still not 100%. One handle also will not fold completely back without a great deal of difficulty so it isn't quite as compact and I am concerned about further damage to the chair itself. The removable footrests are nice but I can not adjust them so luckily they were at the length we needed coming out of the box. The chair when folded will fit in the trunk of a Civic but I'm afraid getting it in the backseat will either be impossible or another struggle. It does handle fairly well on uneven sidewalks and seems to be fairly comfortable. The straps on the footrest are a nice idea but do not stay on their posts so you either have to leave them dangling or keep stopping to put them back. If they added anything to this chair I would suggest a strap or something to "lock" it in the folded position for getting it in and out of a trunk. I wish I could have rated this higher then a 3 but there were to many petty annoyances right off the bat to rate it any higher. I would recommend it but not wholeheartedly.

5 out of 5 stars Great chair.   December 24, 2007

I love the fact that this chair doesn't have those huge wheels where my clothing always gets caught! Of course, I don't wheel myself, I always have someone to push me, but if you don't need the large wheels to operate the chair yourself, this is a great chair. It's also quite comfortable.

5 out of 5 stars Great price, service, and product   October 16, 2006

It was time to replace my mother's standard wheelchair, which she could never really use to wheel herself anyway, with a transport chair. My sister, in particular, was having a hard time putting the 40+ pound chair in her trunk. The "Comet 330" by Nova Wheelchairs, purchased through Allegro Medical was the perfect choice. My sister and I were, at first, reluctant to make such a purchase as this without seeing it first-hand in a store, but as it turns out, we made the right choice. Features which were critical in our decision were (1) weight/transportability, (2) a price under $[...], and (3) large rear tires for negotiating curbs, steps, and thresholds. Shorter armrests for close seating at tables was a close forth on the list, but as we could find no suitable product with all four, we were willing to sacrifice that for the other three. Features we did not have on the list but were an added bonus with the Comet 330 were the hand brakes that can be used to lock the rear wheels, and the fold down back which allows us to fold the chair and simply and easily set it in the back seat due to the reduced size and weight. Along with the chair, we purchased the "Scooter Arm Tote CarryOn", also from Allegro Medical, which put Mom's handicap placard and other personal effects in easy reach. We received the chair with just a few days and was servicable within minutes.

5 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended   January 30, 2006

I researched a number of transport chairs before making this purchase. I wanted the larger rear wheels. The hand grips are very comfortable. It is easy to open and to lift into the car. The best part, however, is how it handles. It is easy to push and turn. I don't know how our family did without it! With free shipping from Allegro Medical, you can't go wrong!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect. Stylish and very well built   September 3, 2005

I checked out many of the brands and none compared to this one. Easy to fold, stylish and the tires are great. I wanted one with little larger tires in the rear. Very comfortable and easy to fold. The handle grips are very soft and have a comfortable grip. It has a molded part extension allowing your thumbs a place to rest. Highly recommended...
