This commode is very sturdy so that you feel safe. It is a good height from the floor so people with new hip replacements can use it. I found it altogether satisfactory with one exception. My son=in=law found a solution to that. He purchased plastic bags from REI made for camping commodes. My daughter placed a fresh bag as needed in the Amazon commode.Thus cleaning became easy. Especially for smelly deposits this was a lifesaver. This combination made the convalescence from my total hip replacement a success. I am planning to do the same when my right hip is replaced in March. Patricia Ellison
