Expertly rebacked nineteenth-century binding; bound in quarter black calf, with the original spine laid-down, grey cloth sides, red spine label, all edges speckled red. Occasional light pencil marks and brief pencil notes in margins, else very clean. The cloth is lightly spotted, the fore-corners are gently bumped, and the top-edge is dust-soiled; nonetheless, it is an attractive and solid copy. Very good plus. Godwin's stated purpose for writing this book was to exhibit a fair delineation of the credulity of the human mind.
