Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A very educational continuation in this series.   November 6, 2008
Just a great continuation of this series from Morningstar. If you are not a complete novice to personal investing, then the 1st book may be necessary, but this is an acceptable starting point if you feel like you know what you are doing. I have read all three books in this series, and the first one covered all of the necessary ground for someone who is starting with no previous knowledge.

This book continues where the first left off, and I have used it to build my own personal strategy for assessing a company and it's business. I think that Larson's writing style, and the collaborative effort from his Morningstar team, is instrumental in making this kind of information palatable by the general population.

If you are looking for financial and investment education products then I think Morningstar is one of the best places to go, and I have yet to be let down with any of their products or services.

4 out of 5 stars Good book on valuing stocks   June 16, 2007

The book is one of a series by Morningstar. This particular describes the various accounting sheets (balance, income, etc.) used. It has two quite worthwhile chapters on economic moats and management quality. This is a good reference for investors trying to determine quality and value in a company.
Some of the accounting sheets printed lightly, and with the small print, are hard to read. The only other recommendation would be to have an index.
