Exercise bands are ideal for building upper and lower body strength for rehabilitation or fitness. Whether building strength after shoulder or knee surgery or improving athletic performance, our bands, tubing and corresponding resistance exercise programs can be easily and economically used for any exercise program. The progressive resistance of our products parallels the basic concepts of building strength and mobility. As each level is mastered, the resistance can be increased with ability. In general, tan and yellow are used for early rehabilitation or very frail individuals. The most common resistances are red, green & blue. Black, silver and gold are typically used by athletes. The use of elastic resistance rather than weight-bearing exercises minimizes pressure on the joints and decreases the possibility of incurring other injuries. They can be used while traveling, sitting at home or even in the office. I have been using TheraBands for 15 years and I just moved up from Silver to Gold. Not just thicker but also broader, creating double the tension. For $35 it is a great home gym. Move over Bowflex and Total Gym, this has total value and can strengthen the entire body equally as well. Also bought it for my two college sons, both bigger and stronger than me and they love it for in-room exercise.

I ordered the red bands. One band (6 yards) is more than long enough to cut into four separate bands. Since most exercises that are done with bands call for one band, you've got extras! It's a great band--just like any other, you can choke up on it for more resistance or let out some for less resistance. I would recommend these bands for anyone who wants an inexpensive set of exercise bands (and then some)!

Thera-band exercise band is an exercise device frequently recommended by physical therapists for rehabilitating shoulders and arms, maybe even legs, from injuries and surgery. I wore out the one my PT gave me and intend to continue strengthening exercises, so I bought my own supply. The rubber does deteriorate over time and weakens so needs to be replaced periodically. This source provides a sufficient length so that I don't have to re-order for a long time.
