TKO 220AS ankle weights - 20 lbs. October 6, 2008 A friend had turned me unto the book, "Strong Women Stay Young". The author recommends women buy adjustable ankle weights up to 20 pounds for each leg. I had the hardest time finding them and finally went online.
I have been exercising for a while, so I found that I needed to start at 10 lbs. These have one pound weights that can be added one at a time so I will be able to add weight as I get stronger. They are quite comfortable. I prefer to wear socks underneath. Do not walk around with them on your ankles. That is not what they are designed for.
These will last me forever!

I really like how the weight is adjustable. Sturdy construction too. For a snug, comfortable fit around my thin ankles I just wear them over socks. 5 stars.
Great for rehabbing knees April 26, 2008 This product is great for rehabbing knees. The weights are easy to take out or put in. Would not recommend it for working out - if you have small ankles, you won't be able to wrap it snugly around your leg. It's also a bit scratchy so you have to put it over your sock or pant leg. But it does exactly what it's supposed to do, and so it's perfect for me.

I read a book on exercise and it recommended buying these 20 pound weights stating that even some of their 80 year old clients used them. I found I could only get up to about 8 pounds before I thought my bones would crack or something. I recommend just buying the 10 pound weights. I think that is plenty for anyone. Even if you try to use more weights they are constantly falling out of the little velcro pockets.
Great Idea and possibilities but limited potential August 24, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Its a great item for whatever you want to use with your exercises and such, however its limited by its bulkiness. This thing even at half its capacity is fairly bulky and some things are impossible to do, like its hard to nearly imposible to strap these on your ankles and wear them throughout the day, but most pants if not all will not be wide neough to cover these you really have to stretch them out, thats the major draw back. ANother negative is that it hurts the ankles, the individual weight on ur ankle from either of the two sides will be a sharp pain in your bones evne the advertised gell packs won't help out enough, you either have to wrap your enkle in extra padding of youw own or even use thick socks to avoid this pain. On the positive side you cna also use these as wrist weights, although they are bulky and you can not go outside with them otherwise you will look crazy they literally are very very bulky. but for exercises in home, they are fine but not beyond that. Sometimes when exercising maybe this is my fault but their bulkiness and the meshy clolsing scheme will interfere with the other leg if you get two of these and will catch each other and get stuck the sticky and pointy side of each. I like the incremental pace of these of 1 lb up to 20, you probably won't be using 20 anytime soon but its good to know they are upgradable, would be cool if they have a more compact simpler version much slimmer that maybe would be in between 10-20, maybe a 15lb version.
