Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Cho-Pat's patented Dual Action Knee Strap provides an extra dimension of relief for painful and weakened knees. The strap applies pressure upon the patellar tendon below the kneecap to stabilize and tighten up the kneecap mechanism, which improves patellar tracking and elevation and reduces patellar subluxation. It adds further strengthening to the kneecap mechanism by applying pressure on the tendon above the kneecap as well. This tends to reduce the forces of the quadriceps on the patella tendon and erosion of the undersurface of the kneecap due to a possible misalignment of the quadriceps (Q angle). The devices design and construction apply constant dynamic forces to the surrounding areas of the knee reducing the likelihood of overuse syndromes. At the same time, the strap allows for full mobility while providing maximum benefits.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding   November 17, 2008
I bought this for my wife, because she has runner's knee. She runs around 60 miles a week. She says this knee brace let her run freely and forget abput her pain

5 out of 5 stars Priceless!   September 10, 2008

I'm a 43 year old runner (well, runner wannabe) who gave up running about 6 years ago due to recurring Runner's Knee (PFPS). I started running again this year and within 1 month, the painful symptoms returned. How painful? Well, my kneecaps would 'pop' out of place -- not fun.

So, I decided to buy the Cho-Pat Dual Action strap in June 2008 because I had some success in the past with the single, below-the-knee Cho-Pat strap.

For the last 2 months, I've been using the dual action strap and I have had zero pain or symptoms. I'm now running 5 miles a day pain-free and I'm thrilled that I may actually be able to run in the Disney Half-Marathon in January.

I'm not sure exactly how it works but I can't argue with the results.

Some specific comments:
-- be precise with your measurements; my knee diameter is 15" and the medium fits perfect.

-- it is a little bulky and some adjustment time is needed. Please note that it will not fit well under most pants (which I like to do because my knee problems occurred after exercising, not during my workouts).

-- it may slip while exercising due to sweat or repetitive movement, so you may need to experiment with the tightness. I have been able to run for 5 miles without it moving, so it is possible -- but it may take some time to find that right amount of tightness.

A great product! I highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 stars Arthritis relief   August 25, 2008
I have arthritis in my knees. Other straps have helped but this one is the best I have tried. It is easy to get on and off and because of this provides me more flexibility in its use. When I have pain I put it on and leave it on. When I am mowing or walking at the beach I put it on. It has made a big difference for me.

5 out of 5 stars a good idea   July 25, 2008

Just purchased the cho Pat, and am very happy with it (them) I have two knees that are worn out from 35 years of jogging, running, road races, and need knees I can use for tennis, skiing, power walking, and these seem to be doing the trick. I come back from any of these things, with little if any swelling, and even less stiffness. They're easy to put on, and for me, they work.

5 out of 5 stars Tango saved by Cho-Pat   July 1, 2008
Has proved effective in stabilizing my knee and thus preventing knee pain. Much superior to those knee supports I bought with the little round hole for the patella, they only made my knee pain worse by putting pressure on the patella. The Cho-Pat Dual Action knee Strap gives the patella plenty of room yet controls its tracking movement. I thought I was going to have to stop my tango, but to my great relief, I can now dance pain free.
