4 out of 5 stars This walker has changed my life!   August 10, 2007

I bought this walker because I have MS - I've used a cane for the past couple of years and only vanity kept me from buying a walker sooner. I'm so glad I finally got over myself and made the purchase! This walker has 8" wheels which is perfect for me as it's suitable for most kinds of outdoor terrain, yet is narrow enough that I can take it into stores & restaurants. I don't use it in the house as I don't need it, but bought it specifically so that I could get more exercise and enjoy the outdoors.

It has a curved back rest which is so much more comfortable than a straight one, and you can rest in comfort. The main reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five, is because the seat isn't padded. It's comfortable enough to rest on, but bothers my sciatica if I sit too long - a padded seat would have definitely earned this walker five stars! As is, I bought a yoga pad and cut it up to use as padding for the seat.

The basket is a nice bonus - Makes shopping a breeze. The walker folds flat enough that I can get it in the trunk of my car (just barely though). And while the seat is always down when you walk, the contour of the walker is such that it doesn't interfere with my stride. The brakes are essential and lock when you need to sit down and rest. It weighs almost 20 pounds, so someone who has trouble with lifting might have to take that into consideration.

For me this walker has been so liberating! I'm now free to go many places I never could before, without becoming fatigued as is a problem with MS. I also have trouble with dizziness, but with the added proprioception information the walker gives through having my hands on the handlebars, I find I'm not as dizzy now when I walk.

For anyone who is hesitating to buy a walker, who uses a cane but who really needs more support, I highly recommend this mobility aid! It's been a liberation!

5 out of 5 stars I got this for my son   March 21, 2007

My son is under 30, with significant health/mobility issues. I got this for him, and he has been using it consistently with great feedback. It was very easy to put together; only a few moving parts that snapped into place or had big hand screws that didn't require any tools at all. It showed up within three days of order. Excellent material, and service.
