4 out of 5 stars A good walking shoe.   September 20, 2008
These are very comfortable walking shoes, though a little tight in the width of the toe box. New Balance suggests that one buys a half-size larger, which is not an option with a size 14 (so I didn't). If buyers are not aware, they should be: New Balance makes their shoes on different lasts (this is an SL-1). Other walking shoes are available on different lasts, which vary in terms of toe box width and height, heel width and instep width. All of this is available at the New Balance site, which should be visited before making a New Balance purchase. That said, these are good shoes, as are virtually all New Balance products -- of which I have owned many, and will buy more in the future.

Recently bought New Balance MW627 - not a great color but excellent fit - light weight and a great price.

Usually take a size 11, so ordered those, but they were strangely small.
Don't understand all the raves here about this shoe!

I purchased two pair of New Balance Walking Shoes at the same time. I sent a glowing review of my first
pair and the service received. I didn't think a separate email was required. Suffice it to say that I was pleased with all aspects transaction especially the shoes themselves. Thanks!
