Amazon.com Product Description The original "freedom of movement" Gramicci G Pant is back in its extreme, tapered leg cut that started the Gramicci legacy 25 years ago. The reverse leg G Pant design features a cuff that tapers to about 2 inches smaller than its straight leg G Pant counterpart. Designed with Hiking-Biking-Climbing in mind, the reverse leg G-Pant functions perfectly for any activity where you don't want extra fabric bulk caught in your bike chain, riding up your legs, or slipping down when you are inverted. Perfect for biking, climbing, yoga, and horseback riding or just kicking back after a long day, this three pocketed pant is the perfect adventure/lounge pant. With the "freedom of movement" gusset crotch, universal fit, elastic waist, and EZ cinch release belt that made Gramicci famous, this pant is made to fit comfortably and easily with harnesses, backpacks, and bike seats, with full freedom of movement for any adventure. Made out of 100 percent cotton Dourada fabric, the foundation of Gramicci's Natural Comfort Technology, the pants will wear through years of hard play. Dourada is an incredibly durable, double ring spun stout weave twill that will stand up to rock scrambling, crawling around under the house, trekking off-road through deep woods, and serious backyard lounging for many, many seasons. The fabric is Raspine Finished for a soft hand and Destine Dyed for a flattering worn, weathered look. Specifications: - 100 percent Dourada cotton

About Gramicci It's the early 1980s: MTV and stone-washed jeans; movies like Bladerunner, Diner, and Ghandi rule. Mike Graham, inspired by a love of surfing and climbing, launched Gramicci from his garage in Southern California. He designed the now-famous gusseted crotch and cinch/release belted G-pant and short that have become legend in the outdoor community. With grassroots efforts and word of mouth, the now cult-like following for Gramicci clothing began to grow. By the late 1990s, Gramicci was coveted for its unique fabrications, worn and weathered finishes, freedom of movement comfort, quality, and multiple functionality. Years later, Gramicci is still dedicated to creating garment dyed, worn-and-weathered clothing built for the sport of living. Forever paying homage to the original designs launched over two decades ago, the company's design team is always busy dreaming about the next generation of Gramicci. With a strong foundation, Gramicci is committed to developing new, natural technology and innovative designs each season.

Would not call these pants original December 28, 2008 These pants are not like the other (old) Gramicci pants I own. The gusset is one small piece rather than multi-piece, as on older examples; the fabric is heavier; the belt does not catch; the legs do not taper enough at the ankle; and they are not made in the U.S. I like my old Gramicci pants very much and wanted to get new replacements, as they do wear out. But these pants aren't like the old ones. The slipping belt combined with the heavier fabric means the pants fall down! Not satisfactory.
Ruined by the belt... November 14, 2008 I have to agree with Marie. These pants would be pretty good if not for the incredibly useless belt. It does not stay cinched up, it is too long (you have to tuck the end into your pocket or it hits your knee), and it is cheap! I bought two pair when they were on sale for $10 a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I only wore one pair once because they wouldn't stay up. Too bad.
Gramicci ruined their pants with a cheap slick belt September 3, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Gramicci pants use to be wonderful. Unfortunately Gramicci cheaped out and replaced the belt with a cheap slick ribbon like belt. The belt does not stay cinched. Unless you like having your pants around your ankles avoid this pant.
Also I ordered the Women's pant but was sent the Man's pant. There is a big difference in the rise and fit.
Fantastic! June 24, 2008 I'm thrilled to find these pants. I wanted the all cotton, light weight, tapered leg, short hiking pants and couldn't find them at REI or even on the Gramicci web site. The pants I bought years ago had totally worn out. They're just what I've been looking for for the last several years.
