Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This hardwood crumb box is designed for slicing bread. The box collects crumbs and the removable grid allows for easy clean-up. Made in the USA.

Amazon.com Review
Perhaps the next-greatest thing since sliced bread, this crumb box will aid in the cutting of most baked goods--from a homemade bread with soft crust to a difficult-to-cut peasant bread with hard crust. Decorative and functional, the box portion has been carefully crafted out of pine with tongue-and-groove styling, and it's been finely sanded to avoid any sharp encounters. The grill upon which the baked good sits is also made of pine. As a warning, it is a bit rough and may show knife cuts if not used with caution. --Teresa Simanton

5 out of 5 stars Nice to have   May 13, 2008
When I'm not using this to slice bread, I keep it underneath my toaster to catch crumbs.

It was so easy to use and just pour the crumbs into the garbage when I was done. Rather than have crumbs all over the counter because there was nowhere for them to go. It didn't catch all of the crumbs, but the majority of them.

4 out of 5 stars A useful thing to have around the kitchen   April 3, 2001

This little crumb box is perfect for those kinds of loaves from the bread machine. It comes apart to easily remove the crumbs. I like it!

I have owned and used this product for several years and find that it is satisfactory, although it isn't large enough for more unusual sized breads such as challah loaves, etc. As the review warns, the wood really is not resistant to impact from the knives, and the "grill" section is badly scratched from normal use. Nonetheless, it is a fairly functional item.
