Amazon.com Review
Clean a home or business cordlessly with this 3-1/2-pound sweeper from Bissell, the company that invented the device. With a 9-1/2-inch cleaning path and a six-brush system, the sweeper snags lint, crumbs, pet hair, and debris from bare floors and carpet. It features two roller brushes and four corner-mounted edge cleaners that are ready to go instantly and adjust automatically to floor type. Bissell designs the brush rollers to turn in opposite directions, so the unit picks up whether it's going forward or backward. Emptying the sweeper's front and back collection pans is simple--just flip them open on their sturdy hinges and dump--while a clip-on brush comb helps maintain the rollers. The unit's steel handle can stay upright or release to horizontal, and it features a hanging hole for storing the tool flat against the wall. Comfortable to use and efficient, the sweeper's also extra quiet, making it great for early-morning or late-night use or cleaning while a baby's asleep. --Emily Bedard

4 out of 5 stars Handy sweeper   September 7, 2008
This product is lightweight and easy to use. It cleans up small messes when you don't want to deal with a large vacuum cleaner. It does not need to be plugged in or recharged and therefore is even quiet. We are pleased with ours.

3 out of 5 stars Bissell 26706 Sweeper   September 1, 2007
It is effective for the job but it is smaller than I thought I was buying - it looks like a child's one. I would have returned it to buy a Turbo sweeper but I had opened it. The last part of the handle is difficult for me to make it stay. It keeps coming away from the main stick.

3 out of 5 stars Good for hard floors   January 1, 2007
This sweeper works great on hard floors especially for picking up loose cat litter that sticks to cat's paws and gets tracked into the house.

I've found that it doesn't work worth a flip on thick carpet though. It would probably work on short-fibered carpet as well as it does hard floors I would think.

The junk handle is another thing altogether. Whoever designed this handle should be ashamed of themselves for cutting corners and submitting such garbage for design approval. I shouldn't have to break out the duct tape to hold something brand new together! And, NO, "reading the instructions" has nothing to do with the major flaws in the handle design. I followed the instructions and pounded the pieces together against the floor as instructed, getting a good tight fit, and it came loose after 3 uses.

5 out of 5 stars Works just fine   January 4, 2006

I got this to pick up cat litter, and that it does plus more. The handle stays on just fine if you bother to read the instructions that come with it. As a bonus, I love the way it picks up all sorts of crumbs and stuff off my kitchen floor. Seems to work well on low pile carpeting also. I find it very easy to empty the bins. It's a quick and quiet way to clean up. I do feel like I'm turning into my Grandma though.

4 out of 5 stars I've used better but this is good   August 12, 2005

For the price, this is good for spot cleaning crumbs and small areas. Obviously, it cannot replace a vacuum. It does come apart a little too easy, but this happens when my sons use it.
