Product Description Dyson 00002 Red and Purple Vacuum Cleaner DC07 Low Reach 000 0000 00002
Amazon.com Review A piece of engineering wizardry created by James Dyson, inventor of the cyclonic vacuum, the 12-amp Dyson DC07 upright with floor tool combines unparalleled power with structural advances. At the center of the machine's innovation is the Cyclone air path design, an eight-section chamber that creates powerful, consistent suction. The conical chambers generate 100,000 g of centrifugal force, pushing dust and dirt out of the airflow into the vacuum's 1-gallon collection cup. With no bag to clog, the vacuum's 270 air watts of suction remain steady. The large, transparent collection cup is easy to check and empties tidily--pop it off, hold it over a trash bin, and pull the trigger to release dirt without having to touch it. The DC07 also comes equipped with a multipart filtration system to improve overall air quality in the home. The HEPA filter, measuring 412 square inches in surface area, traps microscopic particulates and allergens. Expertly built, the filter is designed to last the lifetime of the machine. Suitable for bare floors and carpets, the Dyson upright features a 14-inch cleaning path and edge-cleaning bristles. A simple foot pedal switches off the brush roll for bare floors, and the nozzle automatically adjusts for changes in carpet height. The floor tool featured on this model makes for straightforward nozzle vacuuming where you usually struggle with a hose. Its ultralow profile needs only 3-1/2 inches of clearance, so it reaches easily under sofas, beds, and low chairs. For above-floor cleaning, the vacuum comes with a cleverly stowed, 17-foot quick-release hose. The hose's handle reverses to an extension wand, and onboard accessories include a crevice tool, a dusting brush, and an upholstery attachment. Made from the same material used in crash helmets, the vacuum is unquestionably durable. Plus, the design only puts 4 pounds of weight on the handle, so pushing and turning is easy. This model comes with a 35-foot power cord and a limited two-year household warranty. --Emily Bedard

Powerful but hose breaks April 29, 2008 While I like this Dyson and it picks up great it certainly does clog (it picks up things not meant to be sucked up), it also loses suction when the filter piece dislodges (which it does often), and, we've had to replace the pull out hose twice (I am writing now because I'm now ordering a third. I vacuum two-three times a day and I think this may be too much for this vacuum. I expected more from a $450 vacuum.
Pay a little more but your house will be much cleaner... August 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you own a pet, the Dyson is a must. I purchased the low reach and I could not be happier. When it arrived, I had to fight my husband to get to use it. We were shocked at the amount of dirt and dog hair the vacuum was able to pick up the 1st time on the carpets. I used to vacuum daily because of the dog hair, now I can use the Dyson three times a week and my rugs look cleaner and better then ever. I also notice that the air in the house has less "dust" after I use the Dyson. I am so happy with this machine; it is heavy but in no way unmanageable. My three year old is able to use it, so how heavy can it be - also, I like the extra weight just for that reason - it is more stable. I love the attachments. The hose is great and I am able to do the steps, ceiling fan, and crown molding without a problem. My house feels cleaner using this machine. Well worth every penny. It puts a smile on my face when I see the canister full up, to think my old vacuum bag would last months without filling up - what does that tell you?
Beyond Eureka! May 17, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the first Dyson vacuum cleaner that I've ever had the pleasure to own or use. Yes, pleasure. I love this vacuum. I'm a regular vacuum freak and thought that my house was clean. Imagine my surprise to see that this machine has sucked up more fine dust, dirt, and dingo (o.k. maybe not dingo, but ordinary dog hair) than I ever thought possible.
If you've never owned a Dyson, do yourself a favor and read the owner's manual before assembly and use. It is a little more complicated than plug and go, but worth the time and effort. All of the attachments except the low reach attachment store nicely on the machine.
Would I recommend this product? Absolutely! Light weight, great vacuum power, it is a great value and product.

The best vacuum I have owned. Even beats a Heritage, and a 1/3 of the price.

Wish the Pet Hair option wasn't so much, would have gotten that one instead.
As advertised, never stops up, full suction all the time. I don't know how standard bag vacs can compete with the Dyson. Easy to use and a lot of unusual features like the removable metal wand / host tool that allows you use a flexiable hose or the metal wand.
