Breastfeeding mothers know that let-down can occur at the most inopportune times. And, of course, leaks always seems to happen when you're in the middle of an important business presentation or wearing your best silk dress at a friend's wedding. These extra absorbent disposable nursing pads have a soft, comfortable lining that rests against the skin. The lining draws excess moisture away from skin and into a polymer core in the center. A laminated waterproof lining against your clothing prevents milk from getting any further. The pads are incredibly thin (2 mm) and contoured like a breast, so they don't look stiff or unnatural under clothing. Adhesive tape on the back of each pad secures it to undergarments to keep it from shifting during the day. Quick, easy, and "accident" saving August 30, 2008
Love these lansinoh pads! Protects from leaks and are much easier than washable pads.

I really liked the idea of using washable breast pads. The problem was I was making too much milk and my baby was sleeping through the night. These were the only breast pads that kept me dry. I tried several and every morning I would wake up soaked. The quality is incomparable.

Have tryed many different nursing pads. By far, this is the best! Very absorbant, no leaks. Thin enough to not show through your shirt.

Overall advice: don't buy a large quantity of any nursing pad until you find one you really like.
Specific advice: If you started your pregancy with large breasts (DD and up before baby) I believe that you might prefer the supermarket-available GERBER brand pads to these. The curvature of the Lansinoh pads presumes a medium or large (but not huge) breast. This made the pads more noticeable under clothing. These pads are very absorbent, and do effectively prevent leakage.

I used 60 Medela pads and got these Lansinoh ones. There are better for me because
1- the surface is much softer abd does not stick to the nipple (min are sore). It feels like silk gauze.
2- it does not ave the awkward fold the medela onehas, whihc left an imprint on my breat. Yet is is thin and more discreet in my view.
