I grew up with an Elecrolux and it is still going strong from 1980. I bought this one for myself and have been happy with it. When I received it a piece was cracked, I called customer service and had me drop it off at an authorized dealer. The part was replaced and I had it back in no time with no expense.

We are pleased with the performance of the vacuum, particularly the suction and light weight of the canister. The vacuum was rated as a best buy in Consumer Reports and has proven to be an excellent appliance. At times, on upholstery, the suction is too strong, but can be dealt with by manipulating the attachments. Have not located the suction reduction control directions in the operating manual...if there are directions.
 Too Easily Broken!!!! November 22, 2008
I am a house cleaner and one of the houses that I clean for has this vacuum. I find that I am having problems with the rug attachment releasing and the prongs bending. The owners had to get new parts and now I think they are starting to wear again. This is a new vac and I am very careful with this equiptment. I would never purchase this vacuum!! I think it is terrible. Definately not made like they used to be. I use alot of different types of vacuums and this is not made well at all!!!! The cleaning power is great so much that it feels like the rug attachment is going to snap off, very powerful!!!!

Not that I've owned a lot of vacuums, but this is the best I've ever owned. It is quiet, but powerful, and has lots of great features.

This vacuum is wonderful. Great suction, easy to maneuver, nice design. Useful & easy to change attachments. We purchased it because of its number 2 ranking by Consumer Reports and all the good reviews on Amazon. More expensive than what we were planning to spend, but well worth it. Highly recommended.
