The Timex T74951 Youth watch is reliable, durable, and readable in the dark, thanks to the integrated Indiglo night-light, but it's also flat-out fun to wear. This quartz analog watch features an easily readable, full Arabic numeral display and smaller 5-minute notations on the outside of the dial. It also has small flowers that rotates around the dial with the hands, and a comfortable elastic fabric strap (for better dirt and stain resistance) with pink lotus flowers against a blue base. This watch also offers water resistance to 30 meters (100 feet), durable translucent silver resin case, different colored hour and minute hands, and Timex's unique Kids Loss Protection Plan. It's recommended for children ages 6 and older. The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. Timex understands that kids often lose things, even their most prized possessions, which is why this watch is covered by the Timex Kids Loss Protection Plan. If the watch is lost, Timex will replace it with the same style (or similar if your style is not available) at the price of $10 for up to one year from the original date of purchase, with no questions asked. I buy this watch for myself several times a year. It holds up to anything I do, from gardening to work. It definitely takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I have been wearing these for at least 8 years, and I absolutely LOVE them. Probably would be great for kids too, but my boys are a little old for stretchy bands, but I don't believe that even they could have damaged these watches. I do find that the band stretches out a bit over time, that is why I order them 2 times a year.
 Defective design December 26, 2008
Bought this for my niece -- she loved it, but the strap doesn't fasten properly, goes in backwards, and comes undone quite easily. Now that it's traveled across the state, it's a little late and too much work to return for what I paid for it. Such a bummer, 'cuz my niece seemed to like it. Oh well. get what you pay for, right?

 Defective product March 2, 2008
I purchased this watch for my daughter, and it "sticks" periodically. We thought that it had arrived with a worn battery, tried replacing it and we still have the same problem. It also ticks loudly and she has mentioned that it keeps her awake if she leaves it on her nightstand. Unfortunately, I lost track of time and we are now out of the window for returning this watch to Amazon. It is a cute watch for the 5-10 year old aged child, but feels cheaply made for anyone older than that.
