Lose yourself in the sounds of nature undisturbed by light and distracting external noises. Great for relaxing on airplanes or napping in unfamiliar places, this eye mask creates a peaceful haven for travelers--or harried parents at home. Soft, thick and cushy, the foam mask fits comfortably around any size head by means of an adjustable strap with hook-and-loop closure. It also features a built-in sound system that automatically shuts off after thirty minutes. Pushing a button on the side of the mask lets you choose between five pre-recorded sounds: song birds, rural sounds, babbling brook, ocean waves, and the neutral hum of white noise. A slide wheel adjusts the volume. The eye mask operates on two AAA batteries (not included) conveniently stored in the mask's zippered pocket, or by means of an AC adapter (included). For music of your own choice, an audio input jack allows you plug in a portable CD or cassette player. To clean the mask, simply wipe with a damp cloth. --Ann Bieri

4 out of 5 stars Travel? Work Nights? Noisy Neighbors?   December 25, 2007
I travel a lot, and skipping time zones makes it difficult to sleep sometimes. The Tranquility Zone Eye Mask is one way to take out the variables that makes sleep difficult in different locations. The soft eye pads darken even the brightes rooms. The choice of sounds are pretty basic, but with the right connention you can plug in your iPod and go with anything you want. WOrried about not hearing the fire alarm? The volume control alows just the right noise level. Even so, the timer cuts out the noise in about 30 min.

3 out of 5 stars Okay, but not very comfortable   August 23, 2007

The loop soundtrack really annoyed me. The itchiness of the velour was another negative point; I wore a silk mask underneath to combat that problem. After a few days use, I found it was just a pain to put on/hook up/sleep comfortably (I move around a lot in my sleep).

I bought a sound machine and used my cheaper pair of silk eye mask.

4 out of 5 stars Great Eye Mask   May 15, 2007
This was a great eye mask and worked as advertised. The only reason for the 4 was that it was a little bulky.

4 out of 5 stars Great, but not for side sleepers...   March 5, 2007

This is a great product as long as you are sleeping on your back. I love it for napping in the chair or in the car. I really like the sounds, but be aware it doesn't block out other noise (great for me as I want to be able to hear my kids).
Unfortunately, I am a side sleeper and the battery and sound unit create uncomfortable pressure on my temples. And since the battery unit is one side and the sound unit is on the other, I am uncomfortable on either side - sometimes ending up with a headache.
But it you are a back sleeper or want it for naps in the recliner or for travel, THIS IS A FIRST CLASS PRODUCT!

5 out of 5 stars This is a great buy !!   January 30, 2007
I work third shift so my bedroom is pretty light at 7a.m. when i get home. I have always used some sort of eye mask but this is the best one ever. The music is great as it is. Love it and dont intend to be without it--(at least until retirement in two years! Ha)
