Not that great November 27, 2008 Mostly OK, but dissapointed in the cord. It is a very cheap cord, that gets twisted up real easy, and is not easy to store. If I would have known that they would short change you on the cord, I would not have bought it. And it seemed to lose the good suction it had at first, even before the bag is half full! Wouldn't recommend it, sorry.
Eureka Boss Mighty October 30, 2008 Very handy and easy to move around our 3 story house to clean up.
very hard to use and gets hot June 23, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I don't understand the references to metal telescoping wands. This came with plastic ones, and that part keeps falling off. They must have cheaped out on the design after some were built. You have to use both hands so you can hold the wand on. This means your back is bent over all the time you are vacuuming.
I agree with the reviewer who said "the tools do not swivel, which makes it very hard on arms and hands to manuever." I was constantly fighting with this. Finally I realized the top swiveled, but that only helped a little. You can only go straight forwards and back and then you have to pick up the tool and reposition it. This is unbelievably awkward. I can't believe they let this model out of the factory.
PERFECT FOR SMALL APARTMENTS June 3, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this to replace an older "Mighty Mite" model that lasted over ten years without a problem and I finally had to give it away because I wanted a newer model with more power, better attachments and a choice of a HEPA filter and/or micro-filter dust bag over the regular bag.
It turned out to be more than I expected and I am very satisfied with my purchase. Gone are the plastic extension wands and replaced with metal ones that lock in position. The attachments are precision designed for corners, cracks, upholstery, drapes and dusting the top of electronics and shelves. A wider floor attachment with a powerful edge suction makes easy work of both carpets and hard floors. The electric cord (which raps neatly underneath the canister is several feet longer than my old model and so is the hose leading from the canister that you attach your tools to. That gives me more freedom to move around a room. It also comes with a new tool called the "power claw", that generates an impressive further increased suction for upholstery, bedding and pillows where dust-mites live (don't worry, the micro-filter will trap them along with fleas and flea eggs if you have pets). It has a big on/off foot switch on top, a blow port and it's all wrapped up in a cherry-apple red canister that's a delight to look at if you remember the 50's.
Its only fault is that when using the HEPA filter along with the micro-filter bags its going to heat up; that's only common sense when air is being forced through two dense filtering systems; and it will automatically shut-off. To by pass that feature _safely_ I use the micro-filters which will trap all that I listed above and the HEPA occasionally when I want to purify the air as I dust.
I expect this model to last another ten years at least, that is, unless I wear it out first because it's such a pleasure to use.
I've had this 18 months now... May 21, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
...and I like it. It's a solid, inexpensive vacuum for someone who doesn't have a lot of money to spend.
Pluses: lightweight, so it's easy to carry up/down stairs; very powerful; great for hard floors; attachments are useful; bag easy to insert/remove.
Minuses: hose tends to pinch; cord winder is underneath and awkward -- you have to turn it over to wind/unwind; not great for carpets.
If you want to use it for carpets, get the "claw" (or paw, not sure what they call it) attachment, which works well on upholstery so you would get more use out of it than just carpets.
