Accurate, easy to use August 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been working to get my blood pressure down for about a year. Monitoring my blood pressure every day helps me find connections between my diet, my exercise level, and my blood pressure.
I bought one of those cheap versions you can buy at the pharmacy for $30 or so. It worked OK, but I found you have to do everything exactly right to get a consistent reading. After a few weeks, the velcro in the armband became a little loose.
Then my girlfriend gave me this unit. Yes, it's more expensive. But it's not *that* expensive, and I like it a lot more. It gives a more consistent reading I'm convinced. The manual specifies an accuracy of +/- 3 mm Hg. But even more than the machine's accuracy, the design makes it easy to consistently position yourself for each measurement. I believe consistent positioning is more important than the machine's inherent accuracy.
The unit is about the size of a six-pack of beer. As such, it's easy to toss into my luggage when I travel.
