 Not The Same Machine January 5, 2009
We've had a Brookstone-labeled model for six years or so; excellent sound quality and excellent AM/FM radio reception even though we never removed the antenna from its place in the battery compartment.
We received two Sound Oasis-labeled systems recently. Both took 16 units of volume to equal what our older version puts out at 10 units. Neither would receive AM signals.
I don't know what's up, but two tries is enough for me.
a bit disappointing December 14, 2008
Difficult to set alarm and turn it off. Misleading in amount of sounds, actually many less than advertised because of how they count combinations. Less of the pleasant nature sounds, some actually quite irritating. All this is only disappointing because the price is so high.

This is the 3rd sound machine I've used in 12 years, and by far the very best. The radio reception on the FM band is sharp and clear, and the speakers deliver wonderful sound. The illuminated face is easy to read in the dark, and has three brightness settings, from a very dim "barely there" to a brighter, yet still very soft glow. My favorite feature, however is the "biosync" sound setting, a random jumble of what sounds like musical notes, windchimes, voices, and more. Maybe it's just my imagination, but the biosync setting puts me to sleep faster, for a truly deep sleep. I wake up refreshed in the morning. Go figure! All in all, a wonderful machine!
