 5 star bar with 2 star freshness April 27, 2008
This bar has great taste, texture, and nutritional value but so far, both of the two boxes I've ordered contained at least two or three bars that were so stale (and brick-hard) that I couldn't even begin to bite into them.

I've had a lot of protein and nutrition bars in my time and these are definitely in the bottom 10% in terms of flavour, texture and overall taste. I purchased them because I thought they would be similar to Jenny's Macaroons, which are moist and flavorful and delicious, but these dry, bland bars bear no resemblance whatsoever to their cookie cousins. From now on I'll stick to Larabars, Clif Nectar bars other bars that I know I can rely on to be moist and flavorful.

This is my 2nd order of this product (by the case)...
The first shipment I received the bars where fresh....meaning SOFT when you opened each individual package. Just know that when you open the individual bars themselves air will get to them and the will turn hard after being left out. I learned this from the first shipment... NO PROBLEM.
I do have a PROBLEM though when I received the 2nd shipment(because I was happy with the first...obviously) and the bars are HARD RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!!! UNOPENED!!!!!! Obviously a bad shipment that CANNOT BE RETURNED TO AMAZON UNDER THEIR RULES!!! *****BUYER BEWARE!!!*****

My friend gave me a Jennie's Omega-3 bar to sample. I trusted her enthusiasm "They taste great". The bars consist of six ingredients without the additional 'extras' or stuff you can't pronounced which even so-called healthy protein or energy bars often have despite being called 'healthy'. (Not everything found on the health food aisles are Really healthy. Just read the labels.) Here's the thing. Of the six ingredients, three are items I don't even like the taste of (the seeds- pumpkin, flax, and sunflower). Combined with the coconut, honey, and egg whites, the seed flavors are pretty well hidden, making the bars taste more like macaroons. I'm a fuss-pot and love these. One of the healthiest snacks I've ever liked the taste of. And if you actually like those seeds, buy two boxes!
