Very happy with the Drive wheelchair March 23, 2008 Someone recommended the Drive fly-lite wheelchair (we purchased the fly-weight wheelchair which was slightly less expensive), but they paid over $300 in a local medical supply store; we paid about $125 at Amazon. This is a well built, fits in smaller trunks as even the handles fold, and is light weight. We use to lug a heavy wheelchair around, and this has made bringing a wheelchair a breeze. The doctor's office was so impressed with it, and especially the price, they plan to purchase one through Amazon also. If you need a light weight wheelchair, this is the one to purchase. I had also called Drive to ask the difference between the fly-lite and fly-weight wheelchairs, and the main thing seemed to be this has four larger size wheels, which is easier to push over rough surfaces - yet was $50 less expensive. Highly recommend purshasing, and stop killing your back carrying/lifting a heavy wheelchair.
Lightweight Transport Chair December 18, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was looking for a light, easy to handle wheelchair to transport my elderly mother. This unit is light, sturdy and folds easily to fit into the trunk of a car. It certainly met my requirements. In addition, the delivery was made as promised.
Wheel chair works for us! December 17, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was looking for a light-weight easy to fold wheel chair for my elderly mother at a reasonable cost and found this great product. I can really attest to that after I had to wheel my 260 lb. husband into the hospital last night (over streets and little curbs). He could have walked but was in distress so we figured it would serve not only as a transporter, but a more comfortable 'chair' while waiting in the offices/hospital rooms. It surely provided that comfort, and it wasn't much of a 'push' - considering his bulk - for me to manuever. Nice little compact chair.
Perfect - don't hesitate, get it now October 25, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am thrilled w/the transport chair. It is lightweight and easy to use. I couldn't believe how easy it was to get the chair out of the box and use asap. You only have to put the foot rests on...and they simply slip on. Granny sits a little low in in for whatever reason, so we put a regular bed pillow underneath her as a nice cushion. As another poster said, this chair will do its part, make the chair pushers happy, but won't omit or diminish complaining from some riders.
should have bought it sooner! October 17, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was very happy with the chair as soon as I opened the box. It was very sturdy, well made, extremely easy to assemble, and very sleek & nice looking. The first time my Mom used it she like it alot. And my father loved it even more because it was very lightweight and very portable as he is the one usually pushing the chair. Now when they hop in a taxi, the chair folds up easily and fits in even the smallest trunks nicely. Since I bought this chair, my Mom has been going out alot more often and doesn't think twice about how she will be getting around anymore. Should have bought it sooner!
