It does not state in the written details that you MUST have a box spring for this hand rail. It will not work with the sponge type mattresses that fit right onto the bed frame. If this information had been included in the reading material online I would not have purchased it. Other than that I was impressed with the quality and strength and would buy one for a regular bed!

And just as easy of a concept!
I love this product for my mom, it's smaller and less confining than a bed rail,or other smaller stand assist products.
Does the job with assisting her up to sitting and standing.
Very sturdy material. The softness of the handle makes it warm to the touch and safe against bumping.

Excellent Product November 26, 2007
Bought this item for my Mom who is 81 and a bit weak. Had purchased full bed rails in past and was hard to manage getting her in and out of bed without cumbersome issues. This device is perfectly sized and lets her work her muscles a bit to get up from bed. Does not get in the way.
