Strength for life is a brilliant integration of stunning clarity, pragmatic wisdom and a heart felt call for a greater guiding principle in all of our lives - Strength.
Shawn's latest work is simply a joy to read. It's part fitness book, part mission statement, part peak performance guide, part nutrition revolution, and last but not least part Shawn's heart as he shares with his readers what matters most in life and why strength is central.
Strength for Life in my opinion is the new gold standard for fitness, anything less than this genuine integration of body, heart and mind is a fragmented misguided approach. This book masterfully brings the physical dimensions of who you are to what matters most in your life. It's fitness made profoundly relevant, it's the body meeting the heart of what authentically moves your life forward.
Strength for Life also guides us on how to transform our motivation from the all too common struggle with discipline to what he calls mastery. Through his "FIT" practice outlined in Strength for Life Shawn shows his readers how to bring the mind deeply into their training which turns out to be a welcomed doorway into true joy. Any 'fitness plan' that doesn't bring the mind to the body as Shawn has done here does a disservice to us all.
Strength may be thought of as physical when you're looking at a fitness book, but after this book you'll get what Shawn's pointing at. Strength of Heart, Strength of Mind and Strength of Body. This book changes the game, the only disappointment in surrounding this book is those who remain stuck in the now outdated broken paradigm of "fitness for the body."

Strength for Life is a must read for anyone interested in long-term personal and physical conditioning. This book goes far deeper than your average fitness text. Shawn Phillips redefines strength training as much more than building the body. Spiritual, enlightening, and motivational, this book is a must for anyone who is serious about long-term strength.

This book is awesome (and so is the Full Strength product that stands behind it). I am stronger, more present for my family and so much more effective with what I eat and the results I get at the gym. There are so many new concepts in the book it made my head spin. I think Shawn is a genius and highly recommend this to anyone serious about living a better life.

I read Body for Life, Eating for Life and watched Body of Work. As a competitive bodybuilder, I have been using EAS products religiously for over 7 years. Bill and Shawn Phillips, although I have not met them (yet), have had a significant impact on my life through what they say, as well as the businesses and products they build. Learning through Shawn and Bill that accomplishing anything in life can stem from building your perfect physique has catapolted me in many areas of my life. Not just bodybuilding. I am eager to crack open Strength For Life to see what more I can steal from this man to further advance my physique, my character, my business, and anything else I choose. I'm buying it TOMORROW! Thanks Shawn!

"Strength for Life" is the best book on mental and physical health and fitness I have ever read. The book serves as a guidepost for staying and becoming healthy in all aspects of your mental and physical life. There are many principles, that when read become so logical that you sort of say, "Oh yeah that makes total complete sense."
Shawn writes with passion and ease explaining the purest way to fill life with these principles making them work for you regardless of your shape or age. You will want to re-read this book and dedicate yourself to following. It is not a huge time commitment; in fact it will help you make the time to make yourself more effective, efficient and better living. This book re-inspires and teaches you how to focus and spend less time on fitness while finding a clearer path to your desired life. Shawn makes this all possible in a long-term achievable manner. "Strength For Life" is pretty much the opposite of the muscle-head bodybuilding book. Shawn's words, vision and clarity help remind us how to fill our lives full stop and to ultimately live with strength.
