Yoga Please! March 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We received this as a gift before my son was born. We have been using it nearly every night as part of his bedtime routine for the past 8 months. We have found that it helps him to relax and sleep more soundly. The book is very well organized and gives developmental reasons why and when you should use each of the poses in this book. Itsy Bitsy Yoga provides a wonderful bonding experience between parent and child. I now give it to friends as a gift.
Wonderful book March 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
To be honest I was lost between getting a DVD or a book. And then read the reviews about this book and decided to go for it. I don't regret that at all. The reviews are absolutely correct. It's a great book. And the way the author has divided it by developmental stages is wonderful. My daughter is now 9 months old and we recently started yoga. She's really enjoying it. I wish I had gotten this book earlier.
I LOVE this book! January 9, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just can't believe how much fun this book is. It's also developmentally appropriate in movement and in the music "sing-and-do" suggestions (just sing the lyrics in a gentle singsong or to any nursery rhyme tune and you will hit everything they should be hearing to aid their singing development, plus they're bonding with the sound of your voice). The cutest thing is that in the routines it suggests, most end with a hug. In the opening chapter there are recorded music suggestions, tips for parents of twins... I couldn't be happier with this purchase. What a nice way for a child to enter the world! And you feel so competent as a parent having several solutions to their gas problems or fussiness. I bought this a little worried that I'd have to figure out how to keep my babies in plank pose or downward facing dog, but it's not like that at all. Very simple and lots of photos.
Itsy Bitsy Yoga December 14, 2007 Great book, it touches on all stages that a baby goes through. Each chapter is dedicated to newborns, head-holders, sitting, and crawling. A great opportunity for mommy and baby to spend time together.
A Whole Lot of Fun December 7, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The names of the "yoga" postures are a little "out there" and the songs are too silly, but Baby and I love working out from this book! I am from India and my mom (and MIL) have practiced this on their two kids. Even if you take the claims the title makes with a pinch of salt, the activities work wonders for bonding. Most importantly, my baby is all giggles when he knows I am about to start Itsy Bitsy Yoga. Highly recommended!
