Aerobic Pedal Exerciser - Use for Arms & Legs January 27, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Too bad! It doesn't work well! The bottom part doesn't stay on the ground, as soon as I started to pedal, the whole unit moves and lifts up along with my pedal motion. It is cheap, but useless.
recommended purchase by a VERY skeptical buyer August 3, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
this pedal exerciser works great and made of pretty good material. i am a VERY skeptical online buyer. the picture posted seemed as though product as very poorly built with flimsy material, but it was not. to be fair, i've purchased this and used for over a month before posting this review.
i purchased this for my 80yr old father who uses a walker to slowly walk around. he suffered a stroke 2yrs ago and had a quadriple bypass 4yrs ago which grafts were taken out of his legs. until recently, he was able to get his daily exercise from walking around the block accompanied by someone. due to the weather and of old age, he can only get around half the distance now. i wish i purchased this earlier to add into his daily routine.
i looked at other higher price models from Sharper Image to various sports stores, but they were overpriced with all sorts of un-needed functions, VERY heavy, and at the lowest setting too much resistance for my father's legs. i wanted to be able to physically test the product and be able to return it to a store if we didn't like it. after several failed visits to stores, i decided to take a risk and buy it online.
the picture posted looked flimsy but it is made of pretty good materials and good welds. it is not chrome/silver like the picture, but it's black, grey,& white like granite. it is lightweight and easy to move aside when not being used. yes, the rubber floor paddings did strongly stink of rubber. i removed them, washed with some hot water and dish soap to remove some of the smell. the rubber smell was gone about a week. after 3 weeks, it did squeek a little but nothing a little WD-40 oil couldn't fix. the rubber floor pads do keep it in place and were larger than i expected. even the feet pads were quite larger than expected compared to the pictures. they're plastic and not adjustable.
you do get what you pay for. it does not offer enough resistance for everyone, but it works great for my 80yr old dad's health and physique. well spent $23.99 +tax. i definitely recommend it to anyone with similar health conditions for rehab and daily exercise.
You get what you pay for, I guess. July 15, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Feels really cheap, but it didn't cost much, so... Frustrating that it moves across the floor at higher resistances, also gets hot after extended period of pedaling at med to high resistance.
Keeps us moving! July 9, 2007 This has worked great keeping it by the computer. My teenage son and I both use it when we're on the computer. Sure beats just sitting there getting stiff. Yes, it heats up in the middle but I wouldn't have even noticed if my son hadn't mentioned it and it isn't a problem. We can adjust the resistance for harder for him and easier for me. I highly recommend this product.
