4 out of 5 stars Not unusually noisy   November 29, 2008
After reading reviews both on Amazon and elsewhere, I almost did not purchase this shaver because of the reported noise levels. I do not find it much, if any, louder than the Braun I have been using. Does a good job shaving and I am satisfied with the quality for the cost.

5 out of 5 stars Close and comfortable   November 29, 2008
I've owned many Remington razors over the years and have always been pleased with the close, comfortable shave. In just the past year, I had the opportunity to try a Braun for several months and thought I would see if there was something better on the market. Not a chance. I went back to my Remington and tossed the Braun. The Remington even does a nice job on the tough neck area. Electric razors are individual choices and this one is the best I have found.

5 out of 5 stars Good Value   November 28, 2008
Delivers a very good shave and at a reasonable price. This is a Consumer Reports recommended item, and I am glad I purchased it.

1 out of 5 stars This shaver cheap, unreliable, and just just plain no good.   November 27, 2008
After having this product about 1 week i dropped it from approximately 10 inches. I dented the weak "titanium" microscreen and had to order new ones at 30 dollars a piece. I soon realized that I was running out of charge extremely fast and noticed that when i was plugging the unit in it was not charging (completely separate and unrelated to the 10 inch drop). I would have to wiggle the charging plug back and forth several times before the charging light would come on. Eventually after about 2 months this razor refused to charge and to the trash it went. A month later my Remington haircutter also died, NOT IMPRESSSED. I've had my less powerful Norelco electric razor for over 6 years and I've never had a problem. Also the rubberized outside button is very cheap and could easily get torn or ripped, as for the "titanium" finish on the outside its just a cheap paint job. OVERALL i think im done with remington.

1 out of 5 stars quality and performance not as good   November 26, 2008
I bought this razor to replace my old ms2-370. even though this 390 shaver has the same head and cutters it is not as good. The motor is louder and the shave is rougher. The trimmer has metal edges that stick out past the plastic guard and will sometimes snag on skin. The charger is no longer internal so there is a plug in adapter that is attached to the cord.
I found a new 370 on ebay so the 390 is going back for refund.
