Great, but not amazing! November 16, 2008 Very good shave, but still not superb. I have problem areas on my neck and this shaver will get most, but still leaves a few hairs behind. Overall the best shaver I have used, but no breakthrough in technology.
A little disappoinhting November 10, 2008 I switched from a norelco, and i find that the Braun, does not really do much better of a job. However the replacement blades do cost le3ss. i am also kind of disappointed that in order to keep the system clean you have to buy the cleaning fluid packs as long s you own the razor. It is an added expense I really didn't need or bargan for. For the price, i would expect a much better shave and easier maintanance. most people woudl probably be happier with a less expensive model. I have used less expensive Braun razors before and foudn they did justas good of a job.
CORDLESS SHAVER November 9, 2008 Great product great shave. I would recomend replacing the cleaning fluid and foil shaver heads every other month instead of every third month. Seems to work better that way.
Have a spare shaver ready, problems after 13 months, lenghty time to repair November 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There is no question that this is a good shaver, but be ready for problems down the road. After 13 months (still within 2 year warranty), the motor would stop dead in mid-shave, especially when there are 3-4 bars in the charge indicator. It seemed to increase in speed before quitting. Would re-start immediately at full speed, but then die again within 10-20 seconds.
Also, the slide-up trimmer spring mechanism is jamming - not allowing the door to close flush with the shaver body. You have to hold down the door with your thumb while shaving.
Brought to Braun authorized repair store, they have had it for 3 weeks so far. I called them today, waited on hold for 20 minutes, rep said they are still "waiting for parts". I asked if they were coming from Germany? she laughed....."no".
A $225+ shaver only lasts for 13 months before needing repairs, and will probably take ONE MONTH to repair. SHAME ON YOU, BRAUN! I am truly disappointed.
Exact same problems in an 8/16 review.
Good Shaver, Poor Wall Mount Power Supply November 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had the unit about a year. My wall adapter just died this morning for no reason. I like the shaver, but am not looking forward to dealing with costumer service and 2-3 weeks to get a replacement that in the end (from what I've read) I'm going to have to pay for anyways. I might just use a 12v adapter I have for an old CD player. I don't get it, wall mount power transformers are nothing new and are supposed to last pretty long. My god, I can still find junkers from the 60's that still work fine and have been sitting outdoors for years. Braun should be ashamed for selling out to the cheapest bidder on very standard part...
